I was doing some research this evening and noticed the previous COO (Joe) which I don't recall what his last name was.

Maybe that's the problem with two See, oh, ohs?  they can't agree on anything.

 

These days they just create another title. CEO, COO, CTO, CFO, CMO, CSO, CWO (Chief Whatever Officer )
