Aeon Energy Monitor Switch

Featured Replies

Yeah, I have a couple of these.  Big, bulky, kinda ugly - but they work just fine.  The flat plug is actually more of a feature than I ever thought it would be -- since pretty much every other plug-in module I have is a bulky "wall-wart", this is the go-to device for tight spaces.

I have one of these in my utility room running my hot water circulation pump on a schedule.  Works well.

Does the energy monitor work well?

I've never gotten into monitoring so I don't really know what the stats mean.  The numbers seem to reset occasionally, but I have no idea if that is typical or how it works.

I went ahead and ordered one.  $25, what the heck.  :-)  Even for just a switch, it's a good price and it's rated 5 amps higher than the Insteon switch if I'm not mistaken.

Makes me tempted to get another one.  I've considered monitoring how frequently a sump pump is running.....

Does the energy monitor work well?

For my rough back-of-the-envelope sorts of values, yes the energy monitor works well.  It may actually be very precise, but I haven't actually run tests on this, so I can only report on how I've used it...
