Scottmichaelj Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I know this is WAY outside Home Automation but I figured most of you would enjoy seeing this. I personally own a Aston Martin DB9 and have been speaking with them about purchasing the new 2017 Aston Martin DB11. Aston Martin only produces 4000 vehicles per year about 1000 per model. The new DB11 was shown at the Geneva Auto show and they are currently doing a tour showing it off in the United States. I was invited personally from Aston Martin to a intimate private unveiling of the 2017 DB11 and all I can say is WOW. First off the event was held at a gentleman's garage that was two stories. Downstairs was a "shop" and room for 6 vehicles. In the center of the space was a lift for the car to the second story garage. So you drive in from the rear of the garage and then onto the life, go up to the second floor and drive out the front. No turning around needed. Upstairs was the "showroom" for another 12 cars. The space also had a full kitchen, living room, one bedroom and full bath. This in itself would be nicer than most peoples homes. All the lighting, TVs, HVAC, etc was controlled via Crestron system in a rack in the "shop". The owner of the garage owns many cars, but was showing off his Aston Martin Collection. He has a 1963 DB2, along with a DBS, DB11, etc. Just a gorgeous collection of vehicles. You can see from the photos below. Now for the main event, the new DB11 was lifted up with James Bond theme music playing in the background. What an amazing vehicle it truly is and its a work of art. The thought that went into the design is astonishing. So now I wait for about 9+ months for mine to be handbuilt. I am going with this same color combo but inside going a bit different. Still black interior but not the same seats or carbon fiber inlays. So for now I have to drive my old "junker" around still lol Anyways enough talking, here are some pictures to share with you EDIT: To add pictures from my phone.
Teken Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 What do the huge P R D N indicators do besides light up? Also, did one of the vehicles get moved because one of the black cars were on the right then in the next photo its to the left? Beautiful *Garage* must be a real pain for him to have such a hard life! LOL . . .
fitzpatri8 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Park, neutral, reverse, drive? I'm not a fan of the center control layout, but the cars do look like they might be fun to drive. Is the owner using an ISY to manage the lift and all the lighting?

It just looks kind of odd and out of place like you don't know what gear your in? LOL . . .

With the key/start button in the console. He has two black Astons flanked by the blue one in the middle. Park, neutral, reverse, drive? No Crestron controlled with Lutron RadioRA. AppleTV and Bluray for the TV in the "lounge area" lol
Teken Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I may not like the look of the Astin Martin but surely can appreciate the workmanship. I'm sure everyone had a great time looks to be a fantastic place to relax and chill . . .
mango Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Always loved Aston being a Brit and have driven a couple. Saying that, McLaren P1 please with the GTR for track days
