TJF1960
Hi io_guy, Thanks for the update. Two questions and sorry in advance for my haste as I am late leaving the house: is it possible to set the permission of the newly installed nodelink.exe to 755, On my pogo the way it is set up using system after it installs the new update it won't restart without me manually changing the permissions. I have 3 wc8 already defined in Nodelink. After this update and changing permissions it would restart but would stall out. I didn't have time to enable the logs for troubleshooting as I had just enough time to reinstall 5.0.1 before I had to leave. Questions is do I have to reconfigure the wc8's after the update or should it work as before? Thanks, Tim
io_guy
Tim, What permissions does the file default to? It may make more sense to adjust this on the pogo itself. If I run a chmod under the existing NodeLink it may run into similar permission issues. After moving to 0.5.2 I'd recommend removing the WC8 nodes and re-adding them all. I know this is a pain and I apologize for the inconvenience. I've made significant changes to the node formatting in the ISY to allow for clean renaming. Previously, for example, all temperatures and inputs showed up under a single node, with no way to know which was which (they couldn't be renamed). These are now separated into discrete nodes which can all be given friendly names. These names will also be read back and visible within NodeLink. I promise not to change it again
TJF1960
Hi io_guy, I have 3 wc8's. I am still on v5.0.1 of NodeLink. v5.0.2 of ISY. After I let NodLink update this morning I deleted one of the wc8's which would have required the least amount of work to add back in. After all the nodes populated in ISY I noticed that the variable nodes were not populating, even with zeros. Temps populated though, but not all of them. I also noticed that the node page for the temps and for the variables was the same original page showing variable locations 1-8 and temp locations 1-8. The temp for each node though would be blank except for the first spot on the page. So I re-installed a previous back up for the ISY with the nodes as is for your version v5.0.1 and put that version back into play on the pogo with the previous config file, just so everything was back to normal. So, question, was I seeing no variables updating because I didn't delete all wc8's at the same time? I am trying to figure out a game plan on deleting all wc8s then adding them back in without having to guess which node was what in my programs when trying to reconfigure them. Does that make sense? It took me a day to make all of the changes to add the Nodelink in, lots of programs etc. Thanks, Tim
io_guy
Tim, you'll need to go all in. Once you upgrade the profile is different, so the other 2 WCs will have errors writing. NodeLink uses a shared write thread to the ISY. Once you have errors, everything is broken/stalled.
io_guy
For changing programs, you might want to export your ISY programs to a text file that you can look at during your re-write.
TJF1960
Sounds good. We'll give it a go in a week or so. Thank you.
