Adding Everspring HSP02 Z-Wave PIR to ISY994i

I am unable to add a new Everspring HSP02 Z-Wave motion detector to my system.

I have an ISY994i Insteon system and would like to start using Z-Wave devices. I added the Z-Wave dongle to the ISY994i and registered the module successfully, blue light is on, and it responds to version requests in the admin console.

The Everspring instructions describe how to get the PIR in 'inclusion' mode and that it will be 'awake' for 10 minutes after doing so (press link key 3 times within 1.5 seconds -- which I did).

In the ISY console I pick the option 'Add/Include a Z-Wave Device' and it just stays in 'listening' mode and nothing happens, the device is not found.

I must be missing something simple? Any advice much appreciated.

Does the LED on the sensor blink or go from off to on after pressing the set button 3 times?

Thanks and yes.  On this device the include and exclude steps are the same.  So in effect I have done it many times with no change in condition.  Also did the factory reset, which based on the devices indicator lights, worked.  After that, repeated include/exclude multiple times.

Thanks sorry I did miss the follow up question.  It starts blinking green for about 25 seconds, then stops.

Are you selecting Include before placing the sensor into linking mode? What is the indication when you unplug and repower the sensor? Does the LED blink continuously every 2 seconds? Are you able to place the sensor in Test mode?

Are you able to place the sensor in Test mode? -- The instructions say test mode (i.e. for range/coverage) can only be entered after inclusion.

 

So in summary here is the procedure I am trying:

1) I pick the option 'Add/Include a Z-Wave Device' in ISY console to tell system to start listening

2) I insert battery in device, it blinks red every two seconds for 2 minutes then stops.

3) I press the device's link key 3 times within 1.5 seconds (inclusion command), it starts blinking green for 25 seconds then stops -- manual says device will now be awake for 10 minutes

4) Nothing happens and the "add a device" dialog in the console doesn't change or complete

It seems to me, and I may be wrong, that the blinking should continue until the sensor is included. Try this, if you haven't already: Place the Z-Wave module in exclude mode and begin the include/exclude process on the sensor. Do that twice. Be sure to cancel the exclude mode before the second try. Then try adding the sensor.

 

BTW, when you do the Reset, do you get the 2-second on, 2-second off result. How long does that continue?
