My first Z-Wave device!!!

The only Z-Wave devices i have are Two Schlage deadbolts. They both work 100% with no repeater.

So what you are saying is stay with Insteon and use Z-Wave only as needed.

 

Don't use Z-Wave as controllers for scenes (not supported yet)

 

So I guess it's better to use Insteon Motion Sensor because it's more stable.

 

Create a Scene instead of a Program (scene needs no brain/hub, if house network goes down, scene works, program stops working)

No! I'm not saying any of that. Simply stating a fact.

 

However, I miss-spoke: I recently added a z-wave thermostat.

 

I haven't found the need for any other Z-Wave devices.

 

As for motion sensors, I won't use battery devices and I feel the Insteon motion sensors are garbage.

Insteon motion sensors are ideal where power is not available, outdoors for example. For in-wall situations, I use Lutron Motion sensors wired to Micro Modules.
