Microsoft Secure Boot Key - Compromised

This week the IT Industry is abuzz regarding the latest debacle from Microsoft. The details of the specifics are explained in this tech article: http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-secure-boot-key-debacle-causes-security-panic/

Of special interest is the direct relations to what the FBI has been asking for - which is a back door master key to circumvent security measures in the hardware.

The famous law suite between Apple & FBI was the high light of this 2016 year. As they wanted Apple to actually come up with a direct method to hack into their secure iPhones. Ultimately the FBI withdrew the suite because a *Unknown Vulnerability* was used which they paid for via a grey hat company.

To date the FBI has not provided Apple the details of what and how this method was used. Because they know if they do Apple will quickly patch it up and this one off solution will no longer be useful.

This article clearly indicates why those who have and use technology must always deploy alternate and tried and true 3rd party encryption methods, security measures, or follow best practices. Instead of relying upon companies like Microsoft to offer so called protection all the while there exists a *Master Key* which can be used at anytime to circumvent the system(s).

Lastly, this also high lights what I have been saying for ages which is the Government places the rights, privacy, and security of the public at the bottom. The Government would rather let people become infected or lose data then to reveal these hacks to the general public - never mind alert the companies so they could offer a solution for said hacks.
