Static Update Controller

Does anyone know anything about static update controllers and/or whether or not the ISY supports them?

 

I learned about them from page 3 of this manual

I do not believe the ISY supports SUC functionality (although I would *love* it if UDI would consider adding SUC/SIS! It would make enrolling locks *so* much easier!)

Hi cyberk,

 

Due to the firmware we are required to use for the Z-Wave dongle, ISY cannot be a SUC without giving up other functionality.  If we move to newer Z-Wave hardware we may be able to change this.

I was more referring to having another SUC on the network. I have a device that can apparently act as a SUC if supported by the controller.

Yes, you can do that.  ISY supports having a SUC in the network, it just cannot itself be a SUC.

So, in other words, the ISY does, in fact, not SUC.

Looks like I misread my instructions, I thought the device itself could act as a SUC, but after reading them again, it looks like it just states it supports working with a SUC.

 

Does anyone know the benefits to a SUC? If any?
