I've just received a new Insteon 2663-222 and it is not responding to my ISY 994i/IR PRO.  Is there a list of compatible Insteon devices?  I am running firmware version 4.5.4.

Not responding as you can't query, control, add? If you select on add a new Insteon device there is a drop down list which indicates all of the hardware it supports.

The 2663-222 is indeed supported in the ISY Series Controller.

If the device is not reachable from the ISY Series Controller it could be as simple as noise on the power line. What is the attached load? If its other than an incandescent remove it and see what happens. A quick test is to simply unplug what ever is inserted into the outlet and see what happens.

If the controller can now see and control it its the load . . .

If the controller still can't control, query, add the outlet have you confirmed proper coupling / bridging of the Insteon network via the 4 tap beacon test outlined in the full users manual? Both sides of the single split phase electrical system must be properly coupled / bridged to ensure a consistent and reliable Insteon network.

Keeping in mind no amount of coupling / bridging will alleviate noise makers / signal suckers on the power line. Only a line filter will help in this situation assuming its typical line noise. When a line filter can't solve the powerline issue you need to replace or remove the offending load or isolate it from the network.

When trying to add the device the interface responds with a New Device Error window and the message:

"Cannot determine Insteon Engine"

There is no load attached.  I have many devices attached to the system and can add lamp modules with no difficulty.  I have tried the beacon approach as well as a link initiated by the button on the outlet.  I bought up the event viewer while the link attempt was going on and here is what was recorded:

44.88.23 is the address of the outlet I am trying to add.  I assumed that the outlet was bad so I got a new one and the issue remains the same.

I don't see any responses back from the module in your post.

Double check that the 88 in the address does not have a B in it.

You may want to do a Factory Reset on the module and try again.

If you can temporarily connect a line cord to it and try a few different locations in the home. If it can be added. I would suspect a communications problem in the normal location of the module.

I don't think it should matter. Try having a load on the module and try and add it.
