New motion sensors not recognized by ISY994i

I get only an error message trying to link the new 2844-222 motion detectors to my ISY994i. Do I need an upgrade? I have tried linking by address, and linking by "start linking" method; neither works. Of course, I have put the devices (2 of them) into linking mode, with proper blinking responses. As these items appear to be a new product, it may be that the ISY needs upgrading? Any assistance appreciated.
