hbskisurf Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I have several Schlage Connects installed and they have been working great with my ISY for about 2 years. About a month ago, our front door lock battery died and I replaced them with fresh batteries. The next weekend, the lock started beeping for low battery so I thought maybe I got a bad batch of batteries. Last weekend, I replaced the batteries and today the lock is totally dead. Any ideas what's happening? Could the ISY be polling it more frequently for some reason? I haven't made any changes that would impact it though.
Tim Wilson Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Does the deadbolt itself function as before? I've read that the mechanism that moves the deadbolt has a higher power mode that engages if it has to work harder to extend the deadbolt. The result is a battery that drains quickly. Maybe the door isn't closing all the way anymore and the deadbolt isn't lined up with door jamb properly.
KeviNH Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I have a program which writes to a local ISY file once each day with the status of all locks, the "Notification" looks like this: Lock 5 Battery level is ${sys.node.ZW005_1.BATLVL}, state is ${sys.node.ZW005_1.ST}, last user ${sys.node.ZW005_1.USRNUM}, Makes it easier to notice weird trends in battery decline.
