fishelmo Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Hi everyone, I have purchased the ISY Insteon package for my newly built house and I haven't install it yet. I am also planned to get the DoorBird door bell, which I know it can talk to ISY. Do you have any suggestions on the door lock? Any door locks that can communicate with ISY? It would be the best if there's a door lock that can be unlocked remotely once I got the notification from DoorBird. Thanks!
Tim Wilson Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 I have the Schlage Connect. Search the forums here for "BE469" to find more info.
Brian H Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Did you purchase a ISY994i with a Z-Wave option installed? If not you can add it if you use a Z-Wave protocol lock. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Z-Wave:_Ordering/Assembly_Instructions
fishelmo Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 I bought it with the Insteon option. So I can buy the daughter board and add it to the ISY device?
fishelmo Posted May 27, 2017 Author Posted May 27, 2017 I bought these two items: https://www.aartech.ca/isy994irpro-insteon-home-automation-controller.html https://www.aartech.ca/2413s-smarthome-insteon-dual-band-plm.html Can I still add the Z-Wave daughter board?

Yes. You can have Insteon + one of the following: Z-Wave (Zw) , Zigbee PRO (Z), or Zigbee SEP (ZS). The Z and ZS aren't very useful for most residential applications. You can also add an IR receiver to any of the models (regardless of protocol choice). Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk
stusviews Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 If you (easily) install the ISY Z-Wave module, the you won't need Schlage Connect which is a for a fee service to control Schlage Z-Wave locks. You'll be able to fully control the lock with the ISY.
randyth Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Just installed the Schlage Connect today on three doors. Installation was a breeze, though I had trouble adding the first lock as a Z-Wave device to my ISY. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery on the lock and trying again did the trick. The last two locks were added on the first try. It's been less than 6 hours since the installation, but so far I'm loving it. Very impressed with the locks and ISY integration. -Randy
stusviews Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Info: Schlage Connect is a service, Schlage Connect lock type/name is a device. (e.g., Schlage Connect BE469 or simply Schlage BE469).
fishelmo Posted May 29, 2017 Author Posted May 29, 2017 I bought the BE469NX lock. https://www.rona.ca/en/century-keypad-dead-bolt-12825439 I have a question though, I plan to put the locks for the front doors and also at the detach garage. The detach garage and the house has a distance of 20 feet. Will the z-wave lock able to connect back to the main house? My controller will be placed in the crawl space. Thanks for all your help!
stusviews Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 It's worth a try. You do need to include the lock by bringing it close to the ISY, then you can install it in its final location. An Aeotech Siren or Doorbell will work wonders to increase the range, if needed.
