When you do a replace device it has to be like for like.

 

You'll need to delete the device, do a factory reset on the device,  then reinstall it

A factory reset will bring the KPL to its default state. Which was the original KPL, 6 or 8-button? Did you ever change the original from one mode to the other mode? What is the replacement? Provide model numbers.
