iowaj Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I had a 6 button switch 2486D go bad during a power outage. I could not get it back and it's old anyway so decided to replace it. I added a new 6 button switch that is model 2334-232. The ISY994i recognized the new switch and I went into the system and replaced the old switch with the new switch. It shows up in my list, but from the program I can't turn the switch on if off. I can do the reverse - off if on. The programming did not seem to transfer, but I am not worried about that. I know once the program actually has the switch working right I should be able to reprogram. What am I missing? Why won't the program operate the switch properly?

Right click on your device and do a restore device. If that doesn't resolve your issue then post a copy of your program. What is your ISY firmware and UI version?

What is your ISY firmware and UI version? Restoring did not resolve the issue. I have not been good about updating firmware and don't really know how to do it. The firmware is v.4.2.30. How do I update? And the UI version is v.4.6.2

If you click on that it will update. If for some reason that notice isn't there then you'll find what you need here https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/22000-release-462-is-now-official/

I have one switch that the ISY is not communicating with and it doesn't want to restore. I may just remove and add back unless you have another suggestion.

I may just remove and add back unless you have another suggestion. Do a factory reset on the switch, then a restore device from the ISY. If that doesn't work then you have a communication issue, either noise on the powerline or the two sides of you powerline are not properly bridged. Here's the troubleshooting info http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors
