Rule for imported motion sensors

Hey folks

I imported a bunch of motion sensors from ISY to ELK and would like to use them as zones for when my house is armed away. I also have hardwired motions on ELK and I would like the ISY ones to augment the ELK coverage.

I am not experienced with ELK but looked into a rule

whenever (motion sensor name) is turned on by some external device

and (area) is armed away

then ...... ??

I can't find a way to set off the burglar alarm in the then statement. also the exported motions showed up under lighting with on/off status. I assume that's ok and when the motion is tripped, the status goes to on?

First off, I recommend using Elk motion sensors in ISY vs the other way around. Insteon motion sensors (or Zwave, etc) are unreliable for use as security.

Assuming you want to stick with this approach, I would recommend the programming be done within the ISY and not even bother importing the sensors into the M1. It would be easier and far more flexible to write programs in ISY to accomplish things you want vs within the M1. From within the ISY you can trigger a Zone open as an action, which would result in the desired effect based on how that Zone is configured within the M1.

Thanks for the recommendation, I actually have great motion coverage with ELK as recommended by my security specialist, the zwave multi-sensors are in bedrooms where motion sensors didn't add much to the security posture of my house. but since I get the function, I thought of just throwing it in there.

I will definitely do the logic in ISY, there is no advantage putting rules in ELK is the single point of failure (the xep) will affect both approached, so why not use ISY.

None the less, and for my learning effort, is there a way to achieve this in ELK?
