Integrate remote location

I have all Insteon switches at the house and a ISY994iZW controller.   The gate entrance is 400 ft away.    I'd like to add some lights at the gate and integrate them into the system.     I have internet connecting the two locations with Ubiquiti nanobeams and a POE switch to power cameras.    How can I do this?    Add a smarthings hub down there and use a z-wave switch?   Is there a better way?   Thanks.

Neither Insteon nor Z-Wave is Ethernet capable. Do you have line voltage where you want to install the lighting. If so, then temporarily install any Insten device at that nearest location to the house as a test. It's feasible for powerline signals to travel that far. Any success?

Let me further explain what I'm trying to do.     I want to use the motion detection feature in the Blue Iris camera software to send a command to turn on the flood lights.   The capabilities of the cameras and the software is way better than any home automation device I could buy.     I've seen different ways of sending the command.     The reason I mentioned the ethernet is that I could plug in a smart things hub and a GE switch.    Set that as a secondary zwave node and control it that way.       I've just never done this before and wondered if there is a better way.       Thanks.

I don't see why that wouldn't work. If you have a smarthings hub at the gate, and it is networked to your LAN via the ubnt nanostations, you can use the networking module in the ISY to trigger and API query to the smart things. I'm not familiar with the smarthings API so if it was my setup I would just have another ISY at the gate, which would be on the same LAN. Then just use the networking module to query the rest API of the ISY at the gate to control the Z-wave switch.
