joelpete Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) Okay, First off, I'm a DIY're not a professional ISY programmer, be gentle. Earlier this year I switched from the old Insteon Hub to the new one only to find out they no longer support PC interface... So I upgraded again, to ISY994i/IR Pro. It's updated to v.4.6.2. My PLM was purchased from Amazon on 05/30/2017, it's a 2413S on v9E. Everything worked great after the migration, for about a month or so. Around the time I updated to v4.6.2 things started to go haywire, and I've struggled with it ever since. I've done numerous searches here trying to find a solution but everything I find is either not my issue, or I just don't understand you guys (I don't have the lexicon). Since pictures are worth so much more... here are two examples of what's going on. First is a screen shot of a scene that works properly: This second image is a scene that doesn't do anything correctly... These two scenes are triggered from two different buttons on the same 8-button 2334-2 v.45, which replaced a 2334-2 v43 that was doing the same thing. After replacing the switch and finding the same issue, I deleted ALL of my scenes and devices, did a factory reset, and reprogrammed everything from scratch, and I'm still having these weirdnesses (I know that's not a word). Follow-up: when I save and view my error log, there are no corresponding errors to the above listed scene events. Edited November 21, 2017 by joelpete

Only five of them turn on when the scene is activated
ScottAvery Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Around the time I updated to v4.6.2 things started to go haywire, and I've struggled with it ever since. First thing to look at: In the GUI top menu click Help / About and see if your GUI is 4.6.2
stusviews Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 First thing to look at: In the GUI top menu click Help / About and see if your GUI is 4.6.2 Absolutely true, If the Firmware and UI are not identical, then you can expect the unexpected. Can you be more specific as to what isn't working? ie. I have ten lights in a scene. Only five of them turn on when the scene is activated Teken is correct, too. Specificity is the key. You also mentioned, "a scene that doesn't do anything correctly." What exactly doesn't it do? What should it do? Details, details, details...after checking for correct ISY versions.
joelpete Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 Firmware and GUI match 100%. (Insteon_UD994 v.4.6.2 (2017-06-21-13:52:47) I tried to provide the images to show what wasn't working properly, but I'll key some of it out: My Scene "Movie Time" is supposed to ramp off several lights Ramp up, or ramp on, several other lights to 50% Turn on two ceiling fans to Low. Instead it instantly turns all the lights in the scene to 100% and both ceiling fans to High.
stusviews Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Adjusting the overall scene settings is inadequate. Select each individual device separately in the scene and adjust each accordingly.
Thanatar Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Does the scene work with you activate it from the admin console? Make sure to select the red (Controller) device under each scene and verify the settings match what you want. Chances are you only set the top level scene and that's why. 1

Teken Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 And Thanatar is tonight's winner of the forum! He's one of several 2017 Super Hero's on this forum . . . Now, ask him about Julie U.S.! 1
joelpete Posted November 23, 2017 Author Posted November 23, 2017 @Stusviews, Looking back, yes, your response was equally correct. But I honestly didn't understand it until Thanatar spelled it out for me. I appreciate the help from each of you. And Stu, thank you for your service... even if it was AF. GO ARMY!
stusviews Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Good point. I'll attempt to be more specific. I do try to be terse in my responses, but maybe lengthy is better
