flynjets Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Would it be possible to add support for the flair smart vent? https://api.flair.co/
io_guy Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I contacted Keen over a year ago asking for a vent and API access. They didn't play ball. I'll try contacting Flair to see if they're willing.
Dean Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I’m definitely interested. I have a dual zone system, but there are still temperature fluctuations. They have a page that discusses the API at https://api.flair.co/api/ , which indicates “in process”, but they were targeting shipment in November, so let us know their response. automationgeek Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 I would also be interested,I own a few of their vent so far so good.
dinostop Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 I just replaced all of my vents with Flair vents. I use 1 Flair Puck and have Ecobee thermostats on 2 floors in a zoned system. I am not completely sure it is working as it is supposed to and I can't get the Flair folks to reply to my emails about turning off the default for keeping a certain number of vents open for static back pressure. (I have my own system in place to resolve extra system pressure).
lip Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I'll try asking the guy who started the company. I think they would be happy to but they are woefully understaffed
io_guy Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I sent them an email a week ago, no response.
automationgeek Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 @io_guy Sorry to bring back an old thread, but were wondering if you ever got a response from Flair and still thinking to integrate this into NodeLink?
Scottmichaelj Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Sad bc I really want to have something like these too. Edit: The reviews for these on Amazon are not good either. All seem to complain about the horrible customer service. That’s too bad. Maybe there’s another manufacturer that does something similar. Scary reading how the vents fell mounted to the ceiling. Not sure if it’s user error or not though.

As far for customer service I have been very well served so far, but it seem lately they response time is much slower. I think they were victim of their own success. Personally it did made a improvement in overall comfort were I installed the vents.
FLAIR Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Hi everyone! This is Nishant from the Flair Team. Sorry if you requested API access and haven't heard back from us yet. In January we were hiring a Customer Success Manager so we can respond to everyone's messages in a timely manner and grow our customer success team. We also switched our help desk software so if you haven't heard back, please feel free to ping us! On 1/26/2018 at 12:41 PM, Scottmichaelj said: Sad bc I really want to have something like these too. Keen had a very scary issue with vents falling! We designed ours to avoid that. We're not on Amazon, as we're focused on growing our business through our website, so any Smart Vents you see on Amazon are not Flair's. Thanks!

Thats great, I must have mixed up things. I would love to try yours. IO_Guy - does the link to the API on the site not work for you? What more do you need from it?
io_guy Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Nope, I was asking for a devel device. I'm not writing for a product i can't debug. Just too hard to maintain.
FLAIR Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Just to confirm, you are requesting a free Smart Vent and a Puck to develop your integration with ISY? I wanted to make sure before I check with the team on starting up your integration.
io_guy Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Correct. This looks like a great automation product and I have no issue adding support for it, however I currently have no need to purchase them myself as I have hardwired dampers on all my lines.
flynjets Posted February 19, 2018 Author Posted February 19, 2018 Any progress with Flair on getting a device?
Jimbo.Automates Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I do have a need for these and will be looking into it a little deeper.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

I may be able to work something out with you. Feel free to email hello@flair.co and put Attn: Nishant in the subject line so it's directed to me. Thanks!

Jimbo.Automates Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Yes, works for me as well since I already use it for Honeywell at my lake house which is where I plan to use the vents as well.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
automationgeek Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Yes, same for me, I have some vents and would like to have them integrated with ISY.
io_guy Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 In discussions with Flair through email now; looks like this will happen.
