Controlling LEDs in 2334-225 keypad

Recommended Posts

I have an alarm system controlled by an ISY994i.  I used to use an SH2487S (converted to 8 keys) to set my security status to one of several alarm states.  I was able to program the system to use the buttons on the SH2487S to make a four digit code entry.  E.g., one of the entries was used for times when we left the house unoccupied. I had the keypad keys each set as a responder one of 7 scenes. The scenes were set to a non-toggle mode. When a button was depressed, it flashed twice and then went off. The key values were received and the values for the four most recent key presses were analyzed. When a valid four digit code for setting a security state was received, actions were taken and then the program taking the action had lines in it to turn on a particular acknowledgement pattern of LEDS, unrelated to the pattern used for entering the code (for obvious security reasons). The line of code used was, (e.g.,for key 7), Set Scene 'Keypad Key Scene 7 Fast ON'.

My SH2487S failed recently.  I bought and installed a 2334-225 keypad, setting the key buttons using non-toggle-off. The behavior when using the keys to make code entries is about the same as before, except that instead of the LED flashing exactly twice for each entty, they sometimes flash three time, with the third flash being randomly shorter or equal to the first two flashes. No big deal. But I have not been able to find any way to cause the acknowledgement pattern of ON LEDS to occur, using the same program to turn them on as i did when i had the SH2478S.  Is there any way to cause a pattern of LEDs to turn on statically under command of a program with the new keypad?

If the button is set to non-toggle off, the it will always return to off unless you have a way to turn the button LED on.. It's best if you post your program(s). But what's a SH2487S?

Thanks to all.  Problem solved. The SH2487S was indeed a keypad purchased from Smart Home.  I did get my new 2334-225 keypad to work the way I wanted it to work.  It turns out that when I gave up trying different combinations of the keypad settings and the scene parameters and then composed this topic to the forum, I had the keypad buttons except the first one (the light control) set for non-toggle OFF, with LED brightness settings of 0 and 15. I had the scene On Level set to zero. The next morning  after doing the posting I tried setting the scene On Level to 100 - and then I could control the On and Off state using the scene On and Off buttons, and my program then worked.  One thing about trying different combinations was that it was very frustrating due to the fact that everytime I changed a scene setting or device setting, I had to wait for the system to write to every device in my system and that took about 5 minute.

I am posting a separate topic about that.  I tried many searches in the forum to rry to find out how to get around that issue but found nothing.

Delayed write is a feature of the Pro upgrade.  If you have a Pro version of ISY there is a toggle option in the menu buttons at the top left of the admin console.  There is a separate selection for battery devices, in case you only want to delay writes for those.
