MustangChris04
I have a customer complaining that their Hub is getting very hot. Hotter than their Ubiquiti Router, Switch, and cable modem. I believe it is the newer square shaped hub. Not sure the exact model they have. I can't find any info about the operating temperature and what is considered normal. Does anyone know? MWareman
Is this the Insteon Hub, or your ISY994? I’ve not noticed any temperature issues with the ISY... perhaps an email to UDI Support? If it’s an Insteon Hub, you may want to post over at their forums or contact their support.
stusviews
The Insteon 2245 does run warmer than expected. One should be able to keep a finger on it. Hotter that that crude test is worrisome.
MustangChris04
It is the Insteon Hub, not the ISY. I'll be switching out the Hub with another and see if that is better. I have a bunch of hubs sitting around, because it is cheaper to buy the hub with two lamplincs combo than just two lamplincs alone.
Brian H
I have seen HUBs reported as failing. In both the Smarthome and Insteon Forums. With replacement capacitors fixing then {what a surprises here}. The power supplies probably run on the warm side.
