Reset ISY994i/PLM to Factory Defaults

I have an ISY994i (1120) OpenADR (21010) and a PLM 2413S R1.6 1130

 

A week ago my OTHER PLM died (it was a 2413S V1.B 1408)

 

I got the replacement 2413S R1.6 1130 from my supplier.

 

Initially (two days ago) I was able to get the replacement PLM working with MOST of my devices and scenes.

 

Yesterday I did a FACTORY RESET of the ISY and PLM.

 

After the Factory Reset I could not get the ISY to connect to the PLM.

 

Initially when I launched the ISY I got several messages. One was that "Your System is in Safe Mode..."

 

The other indicated: "Could not open CONF/INSTENG.OPT"

 

I tried reseating the SD card which didn't help.

 

The first two LEDs on the ISY are ON which indicates that the ISY cannot communicate with the PLM. If I hit the "SET" button on the PLM the second LED goes out but the ISY still cannot communicate with the PLM and both LEDs come back on if I reboot the ISY.

 

I was able to update the ISY with a backup, but even after reloading the ISY from the backup I created AFTER getting the replacement PLM working I still could get the ISY to talk to the PLM.

 

I am running firmware version 4.6.2 in the ISY.

 

I don't know what the PLM is running for firmware. I assume that it is V1.6 as per the back of the PLM.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

R1.6?

If that is the hardware revision. It is old hardware. Older than your 1.B.

Is it maybe a Reconditioned one? As sometime the R is added to indicate that fact..

Mine is V2.3 and I have seen later ones reported being received.

 

1130 is 30th week of 2011.

 

I suspect you got a defective replacement PLM.

 

One more thought.

Did you power the PLM first and let it initialize. Then power up the ISY994i? So it could find the PLM at start up.
