Timer on a light?

I have tried to program a timer.

If the load for a KPL is pushed ON then it should switch off after 10mins. It does not...

If I turn it on with ISY, then it after the time set, it turns off in ISY. BUT, the light that the KPL controls, did not turn off.

Please help...

Hello cnutco,

This sounds very much like a communication issue. Please use the Event Viewer to see if the switch presses are being noticed by the ISY. ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Using_the_Event_Viewer.

Can I phone or email you tomorrow? Contact

Sub-Routine,

Thanks! for the reply. I have not had a chance to do this yet, but as soon as I get home, I will try.

I have two more toggle dimmers to install too.

I plan to move the ISY to my TV shelf because of this issue. I have it plugged into a power strip and I think this is my problem.

I will let you know how it goes...

Thanks again!

It could well be. You can test by using an extension cord. Do you have Access Points?

Here is another page that may help: Communication Troubleshooting.

Yes, I have two access points.

My house is about 5 years old and only about 2000sqft. I only have about 15 to 20 pcs of Insteon products.

I moved it last night to the livingroom. When I did this, I put an access point on top of the PLM.

I did not have much time to try this new setup out, but what time I did try it... It looks like I am still having issuses.

I will look at the link that you added above and spend a few hours with it tonight.

Hello cnutco,

Just to add to what you will find in that link, since you moved one Access Point you should be sure to re-sync AP #2. That made a difference in my home.

Thanks Rand!

I re-synced the AP 1 and 2. BUT, I am still having trouble. It sounds just like some of posts that I have been reading about communication issues...

I am going to try to get my AP closer to the breaker first and then try to figur out what is causing the issues.

If you are having issues only since installing the KPL I would have to imagine the KPL is not playing well. Pull the set button on the KPL to remove it from the circuit. If your other devices then communicate properly we will have to blame the KPL.
