mikewu99 Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I just ordered my ISY, should be here next week. After spending a frustrating half hour crosslinking a pair of Switchlincs I am looking forward to being able to configure everything from the ISY. Howveer I have a really basic question: If I program a scene with the ISY (say a 3-way switch configuration with 2 Switchlincs) is the scene information programmed into the Switchlincs, or is the ISY involved in running the scene? In other words, if I set up the scene with the ISY and the ISY goes away for some reason will the scene still work?
rlav Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 mikewu99, After you understand how to use your ISI you will love it. The team at "Universal Devices" are dedicated and always work on improving their software. To answer you question, what you link into scene get program into the associated devices. If the ISY is down, only your macros in the program section will be down. RLAV
Sub-Routine Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 RLAV is correct, the difference between tap-linking and using the ISY (besides the ease) is that the ISY becomes a member of every scene. This allows the ISY to track the status of the devices in the scene as well as control the scene. Rand
