philgood Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) I purchased some referb'd 2444-222 micro modules and though they might have just been repackaged without being QC'd since the SET buttons wouldn't work. After wasting a couple of hours troubleshooting, I discovered that the SET button will not respond if you have 120V line voltage coming in on the yellow sense line. Has anyone else come across this or is this common knowledge? Any thought on if this is a design issue or is there some functional purpose? Edited February 22, 2018 by philgood
stusviews Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 That's true. Using the set button requires that there be no input on either sense wire. That's not a flaw nor should it be a problem. Do you have a specific need to use the set button while power is live on a sense wire?
philgood Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 I am using these refurb'd units (half the price) as controller and the sense wires are attached to the switched line of some outdoor motion detecting PIRs. I just need to be sure not to trip the PIR if trying to set one. The only issue was the time spent figuring it out as I could find any documentation stating this fact.
stusviews Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 There is no documentation about that. Nor is any needed. Links are usually created before voltage is applied or, at least, when there's no voltage applied. Bottom line: not every possible situation is documented for every device.
