elionce Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I just purchased the Programs/Variables add-on, & have 2 questions with regards to adding a program to the home screen: 1) It's appearing on the home screen where the "toggle" changes the program between true/false. Is it possible to set it up so the toggle enables/disables the program? 2) Due to the extra lines in the program "card" (idle, "last runtime" text, last runtime weekday, date, & time) it causes that row of cards to expand vertically, which in turn causes the grid of 2x4 cards to no longer fit on the screen vertically. The card on the bottom right then appears with its toggle partially obscured by the "plus" button, so I have to scroll up & down to use it. If I just have regular device toggles on the home screen, the 8 cards fit nicely on the phone's screen, so I don't have to scroll up/down at all. Possible to (optionally) hide (some of) that text so the card doesn't need to be quite as tall? For instance, the bold text "Last Runtime" doesn't display any info that ever changes, & could save a whole line right there. Thanks
James Peterson Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Please send me a couple screenshots so I can visualize the issue.
elionce Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 http://take.ms/SA1q1: No vertical scrolling needed http://take.ms/ID1DU: Added a program card. Due to the 4 rows of text, the bottom 2 cards are expanded vertically, making the bottom row no longer fit on the device screen. The toggle button for that last card is hidden behind the "plus," so you must scroll to use it.
James Peterson Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I don't know how much I can really do for that. There are just too many variables in screen sizes to get everything to fit squarely.
elionce Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Well in the case of the Samsung flagship devices (S8/S9), being able to hide some or all of that text would do it ;) aka if a program card could be the same size as a standard toggle-switch card. In either case, #1 was really the bigger thing for me personally (being able to toggle the program enabled/disabled) from the home screen :)

While not too hard, it would involve a lot of custom programming to add the optional view for this display to account for each object type. I think for now, I am going to leave it as it is.

For what it's worth, i don't think you'd have to do it for everything. As it is, different types of tiles already have different options. For instance, state variables have radiobuttons "standard/toggle/slider;" in this case, it would just be another (program tile-specific) checkbox, like "Hide status text", i.e. near the "Run on startup" checkbox. Anyway, just my 2c - not a huge deal either way :)
