firstone Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 I feel like I'm missing something simple and obvious. I've gone though the steps of linking via app to ISY. I can control lights from the app. But if I try to use voice commands though Mini, it keeps saying "I don't know how to do it". What am I missing? I've try pressing "Send spokens" button again but that didn't fix anything. Quote

You don't need to send spokens as they are already there. Can you try using the Google Assistant app? Click on the mic icon and try to control. I think it may be because Google Home is configured with a different Google Account than the one you are using with the GH app.. Benoit Quote

Don't think so - it was configured though the same app, it shows up in the same room in the app. Does the fact that it's a mini and not larger model make a difference? I thought maybe mini just doesn't work for automation... Quote

If you do have more than one Google accounts, then these may show up in the same Google accounts page and then you have to choose the right one. I have had that issue some time ago. Quote

I've configured both minis with the same GH app as linking lights. I doubt that they would get a different account from somewhere else. Is there an easy way to check? Or should I somehow reset those and try again? Quote

beninsteon Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Hi firstone, GH mini definitely works for HA -- it's all I'm using. I'd try removing ISY from GH, resetting the GH mini and reconfiguring both. Ben 1 Quote
firstone Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 I do not see any evidence of having multiple accounts. But, using mic in Google Home app doesn't work either. Lights work fine if I press on/off buttons. But voice commands just does web search, even though it seems to understand me correctly. I will try resetting them if there are no better suggestions. Have you tried deleting the GH App, rebooting your phone, and re-install the GH App ? Quote
firstone Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 I have now tried everything. I've unlinked ISY (and hue), factory reset both of my minis and set them up again. I have also deleted GH app, rebooted the phone and re-installed GH app. Same behavior: I have ISY device called "bedroom", when I say "Turn on bedroom light", GH app searches web, mini says "Sorry, I don't know how to help with that". Have you tried changing the spoken ? I have had cases where GH did not "like" my chosen spokens. As an example I now have spokens such as "master bedroom ceiling light", master bedroom center light", et c etc. Quote
beninsteon Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Is the isy device called bedroom or bedroom light? Quote
asbril Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 I believe that 'bedroom' for a device may not work. Room names may be reserved in Google Home. Try something like 'master celing' Quote
firstone Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 Device is called "bedroom". I will try renaming it. 1 Quote
