Honeywell EVL-4 problem

Hi,

Just writing to let you know about a problem I'm having with a Honeywell Vista 20p connected to NodeLink/ISY with an EVL-4.

When a zone is tripped, it looks like NodeLink is reporting that zone, plus the previous zone as being Open.

For example, if I open my front door, it says front door zone open. Door closed then reports that zone as closed. I open my back door next, and it reports back door and front door open, even though the front door is closed. When the back door is closed, it then reports both zones as closed. If I reopen the back door it only reports the back door as open (front door stays reported as closed, as it should). Next, if I move to another zone, for example trip a motion sensor, it reports the motion sensor and back door are open. When there's no movement, everything returns to closed. When the motion sensor is tripped again, NodeLink only reports motion sensor as open.

Happy to provide logs if they would be of help (just let me know what mode you want me to enable in logs).

Thanks for supporting this product.

Thanks for the quick reply. Here's my debug log that recreates the problem. Both doors were never opened at the same time, but NodeLink reports side and garage doors both open.  Check out time 22:16:10 for the problem. Zone 6 is faulted but it also changes zone 5's state for some reason. The only pattern I notice is the mistake tends to be in the previously faulted zone.

It's a problem with the %01 (zone update) you're getting from the EVL.

%01,30000000000000000000000000000000$[C][L]

The start 30 is hex, which converts to 00110000, which is saying both zones 5 & 6 are open.

You've spiked my memory on this now.

That's the reason I added the "Partition Members" when there is more than one zone specified.  I use the "Partition Ready" with "No Zones Bypassed" to close all the zones.  This still doesn't completely work because I'd need to also disable the updating based on Zone Status (%01).

I can add this to the next version, should work.

Thanks IO guy! This is exactly what I suggested at the EVL forms but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Now that I understand this behavior I've written my programs to account for it, but if you think you can improve things that would be great.

If you make this change, would it be possible to include an option to leave things as they are or use whatever algorithm you're working to decide on zone status? I ask because if the EVL people issue a firmware update that corrects this at the source, that works be preferable.

Thanks! Installed 925 seems to be working after preliminary testing. I'm not finding the tick box for "Disable 01 Zone Updates" has any effect -- am I crazy? Looks to me like disable 01 zone updates is enabled and can't be turned off.

EDIT: I take this back - nodelink has to be restarted for this option to be disabled once enabled.
