adamthp Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 I just got a Yale Real Living Assure Lock YRD256ZW2619. Other than slightly botching the strike plate install, I'm liking the lock. I had no problem adding it to my z-wave network, and did a few heal networks. I can control the lock 9 times out of 10, but every once in a while it bounce back with a can't communicate with device error. Usually the next time I go to control it is back to fine. I don't have a ton of z-wave devices in that part of the house yet... so I'm thinking that could be part of the issue. I have some Aeotec multi sensors coming that I hope will beef up the network around the door. Now there is one funky thing that is happening with the status. If I lock the door from my ISY, it will actuate the lock no problem.. and very briefly change the status to locked, before then changing it back to unlocked. If I then send another lock command from the ISY, even though it is already locked it then changes the status to locked. This happens for unlock as well, but less often. The screwy thing is that 100% of the time it reads the status correct if I physically go and turn the lock, or use the keypad. Could this be because of the not so robust z-wave network in that side of the house.. or is there something else in play? Thanks!

Battery powered devices do nothing for improving a z-wave mesh. Only powered (plugin or hardwired) devices act as repeaters.
