Using On/Off Micro Module (2444-292) for outside light switch

Featured Replies

Well, I have an On/Off Micro Module (2444-292) and I am trying to use it as an on/off switch for a wall mounted outside wall light. I have it wired in as followed:

Sense 1 - Not used

Sense 2 - Not used

Neutral - 110VAC Neutral wire, light bulb

Up L2 - Light (bulb)

Down L1 - Not used

Line  L - 110VAC source

The module is activated in ISY. When I click it on, the light comes on for about 10 seconds and turns off. I am thinking if I want this to work I may need to add a 110VAC latching relay to the circuit, unless there is a wiring modification or ISY programming fix. When I purchased it, it said it could be used as a dimmer or switch. Still trying to figure this one out. Space is very limted.

Your thoughts,

It's not a micro on-off -- that's the micro open/close unit.

(Which is not to say that there's no way to make it do just "on/off", just to perhaps clarify the discussion...)

That is an 2444-222 Open-Closed Module. I believe the -292 suffix indicates it is a Retail Module sold by third party vendors and not Smarthome directly. It is designed to open and close a 120 volt shade or curtains with its AC motor. It has a built in timer that only supplies power for Up and Down with the power on time set with a calibration sequence. I don't think you can use it as a On and Off module that does not time out.

The 2443-222 is  the On/Off Micro Module.
