Cannot get my PLM to communicate

Recommended Posts

Hi All-

I have a system at my office that works flawlessly.  I have decided to get an ISY set up at my house and today was the day I was going to get set up.   Plugged in the PLM and then the ISY.  Had to restart both of them a few times to get the first device to get added.  Took a break to eat dinner, and now nothing will connect and the previous devices I connected have now lost communication.  I have restarted the PLM and the ISY... I have moved the PLM to what I think is a better location.  According to the ISY dashboard, the PLM is connected but I knows its not.

Any suggestions on where to trouble shoot?

Here's some troubleshooting tips:  https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors

Are you able to access the ISY via the Admin Console?

What ISY firmware are you using?

Are you using the ISY Launcher to access the ISY?

Is the Green light on the modem lit?  What leds are lit on the ISY?

The red ! indicates that the PLM and the Device are not able to communicate with each other.

First try doing a factory reset on the device, then a restore device from the admin console.

If that doesn't resolve the problem then you either have interference on the powerline or your Insteon mesh network needs improving, such as adding access points, etc.

Take a look at the communications troubleshooting tips
