I have some requirements though. 1) Needs to play nice with ISY and Insteon water leak sensors, and switches to cut power to Ice Machine if water is turned off 2) Needs Smart Control - I want it to recognize a running toilet that would drain the well. 3) Work with no power or internet. Internet: Similar to the insteon dimmer switches once programmed. No Power: Cut itself off if the Power is out and a leak is detected (I have a generator, but I want it as fail safe as possible). 3) I prefer an open API. I don't really want to have to a single purpose app. Has anyone used anything that would meet 1-2, if not 3-4 as well? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have a Vista 20p at that house. I really need something smart that can tell a running toilet from a sprinkler. But if it turns off the water it has to cut the ice machine off too or it will fry itself. The leak sensors seem like the easy part with an ISY, but only it can easily communicate with the WCV. I also had the water shutoff on me about a dozen times bc it thought there was a leak. I prefer the water leak with auto shutoff method myself. I think I would rather it cutoff too much than not at all. Understand. Not everything works for everyone. Thats what makes having access to all these things so great. However I do have water leak detectors by all water locations so the auto shutoff works well for my needs. You can change the water size in the Flo app to turn the water back on, but I had some growing pains getting it tweaked. It was a bit inconvenient when I was showering then the water turned off! This would give the toilet time to fill and you wouldn't have to worry about toilet running when house is being used and draining the well either. So add an IO linc or something to that? That is inelegant, but could be effective. It also keeps the rest of the house functioning when one area has an issue. This is not a simple use case because it really needs to work most in an unmonitored situation. What would be great is a smart valve that detected the issue and started shutting off individual water valves until it identified the issue(s).
