Amazon Alexa successfully turns on a switch, but the switch state in ISY Admin Console does not update

I am running v.4.7.3 with Amazon Alexa connectivity through the ISY Portal.  I can successfully call for Alexa to turn ON the Office Fan (a GE/Jasco Z-Wave ON/OFF Switch 14291) and the switch does turn ON as well as I can see in the ISY event viewer that the switch is being told to turn ON. HOWEVER, the status of the switch in the ISY Admin Console does not update from OFF to ON unless I query the device after giving Alexa the command to turn it ON.  The status DOES update in the ISY Admin Console when you physically turn ON/OFF the switch by hand.  I have a program that runs when the switch is turned ON.  Since the status is not updating when I call for Alexa to turn ON the switch, I do not have the ability to run the program when Alexa turns on the switch.

Any ideas of what to try to get the status to update in the ISY Admin Console when Alexa turns on the switch?

That’s probably a symptom of the device you are controlling not telling ISY that the device has changed state (as it was put to market before the patent that protected the idea expired). Before the patent expired, devices used various workarounds and not all of the workarounds work anymore.

Best way is probably to modify your spoken to drive a program in ISY (instead of the device directly) and have the program turn the fan on or off. That way (since the ISY is controlling the fan) it will update the status.

Alexa can't control the Z-Wave switch directly so the process flow of turning on/off always goes through the ISY.  The ISY is turning on the switch and therefore "should" know the state.
