TJF1960 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Hey io_guy! Running ISY 994 latest version on pi3 with latest Nodelink. I installed Network Monitor to monitor 3 cell phones. The three nodes were installed in ISY. Two phones are android and one is iPhone. The status for the two androids occasionally change to OK for maybe 10-15 seconds then the status reverts to offline even if the phones are awake for that time period. Both phones are set to keep wifi awake but its real sketchy, most of the time they both show offline. The iPhone never shows OK. I also noted that in Nodelink>Network Monitor page no nodes or IP addresses populate under the ISY Node Server button like in all the other configurations, not sure if that means anything or not. I tried pinging all three phones from my desktop on the same network but got 0 replies. I am pretty sure its my phones causing the issue but I wanted to check anyway. And maybe this program really isn't able to work with phones, figured I would try it though. Question, Is the status Ok supposed to stay Ok during the polling period then change to offline one the polling fails? Any suggestions or insight you could provide would be great. Thanks, Tim
io_guy Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Hi Tim, Network monitor is not intended for phones, they're a disaster for server side pings and such. Try the NodeLink Location device which would use something like tasker to send a Rest get from the device itself.
