bmercier Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 You can now control your locks using Google Home. To enable this feature: On ISY Portal, go to Select Tools | Connectivity | Google Home Add a lock to your device list, then save Ask "Ok Google, sync my devices" Things you can ask: Ok Google, lock <spoken> Ok Google, unlock <spoken> Ok Google, is <spoken> locked? Mecheng70 Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Is there some way to only allow "lock <spoken>" and "is <spoken> locked?"
Batman Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Hi - Trying to add "lock" to my devices in ISY web Portal, but unable to find (Add Lock) in step 2 above. I have Nest Lock device on my front door, off course Google home CAN LOCK by asking it to, BUT it will NOT UNLOCK, claiming (BY DESIGN)…. would this new ISY portal feature allow me to UNLOCK too? please explain.

It must be that Nest locks are not recognized as locks by ISY Portal. Please send me the output of: http://<your ISY>/rest/nodes/<your lock device address> 22 minutes ago, Batman said: I have Nest Lock device on my front door, off course Google home CAN LOCK by asking it to, BUT it will NOT UNLOCK, claiming (BY DESIGN)…. would this new ISY portal feature allow me to UNLOCK too? please explain. If using the admin console, you can unlock your front door, then yes, the ISY skill will allow you to unlock the door through Google Home. Benoit
Batman Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 using : http://192.168.1.78/rest/nodes/192.168.0.73 gives: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <RestResponse succeeded="false"><status>404</status></RestResponse> i never added (dont know how to add my lock to ISY console, therefore my isy console shows ONLY my intsteon lights/devices

Batman Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I think so as well. When I saw the original post, I thought otherwise !!! Thanks for the confirmation
Chrislef Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Hi. I have added my Schlage Connect to the ISY994 and th Google Assistant and, it works a little too well... Why - Well you can just say, "Unlock the Door", from anywhere in the house, NO PIN or Password required, and it unlocks. THEREFORE, I need a way to set a password I can say to Google, otherwise it will Not unlock. HOW is this DONE??? For example: "Hey Google, Unlock the door". Google responds, "OK, what is the Password for me to unlock the door?"......... Something like that. ALSO, separately but Same topic - In Google Assistant the Lock has a Gear icon on it, and you Cannot lock or unlock the door by tapping the icon... Only by Speaking to the assistant... I also have this gear on a Fan icon in another room. Same story (voice control works but not the actual icon, by tapping on it...)
jfai Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Your plan is to spell out your door lock password for all Google employees that scour the Google Assistant logs? Let's see: Google employees have access to your home address, they know when anyone is home, and they know the password of your lock(s). Do you see anything wrong with that picture?
Chrislef Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 If you refer to the PIN to Enter on the Keypad itself when you are standing in front of the door - NO, not that. Rather, right now, if you simply, Verbally say to google to Unlock or Open the lock, it does, No questions asked. I want it to ask for a PIN, or a password, totally unrelated to the PINs saved in the lock. WHY? Because right now, if the Window were open and someone simply says to unlock the door from outside the house, it will!Just too easy. Or if an expression on the radio or TV were to say something like that, and the door unlocks, Not Good! I know some Smart Locks will only Lock the door with a Verbal command... I just want mu Schlage Connect lock with Google, to at least require some password somewhere

If this feature is important to you, I would recommend getting one of those. While UDI may be able to add that capability, it may be some time before it happens. In the meantime, I would recommend setting your lock up so that it only locks vs being able to unlock as well Edited November 24, 2020 by lilyoyo1
Chrislef Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Thanks for your reply. I agree with you about setting it to only accept the verbal command 'Lock'. BUT, where do I do that? Somewhere in a Parameter setting in the ISY994, for the Schlage Connect lock? Somewhere in Google Assistant itself??? This is part of what I'm trying to figure out... And I am sure many ISY users have the Schlage Connect (Z-Wave) Lock. It is a well known model.

The program will only lock it. Saying unlock does nothing
Chrislef Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Ah, ok, that could be a solution for me. Can you point me to the program? And I wonder if the program can wait for a verbal response of a PIN, in order to Unlock? Again, Not the PINs saved in the lock itself for its keypad, but an unrelated PIN only for the verbal control
Michel Kohanim Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 @Chrislef, As per @bmercier, this is supported in Alexa (you have to enabled it in the app). Something similar is also available on GH but we have not tested it. With kind regards, Michel
Chrislef Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Thanks. I originally dug around in the Google Home settings but did Not find anything regarding the Locks... Not sure where that might be... Same story for the Gear appearing as part of the LOCK icon in Google and not being able to Unlock or Lick it by the Icon - it only shows it is registered with Universal Devices. But speaking verbally, the commands works!!?!
