zwave problem only with queries

I have a mostly Insteon network but have two zwave devices (a homeseer dimmer and a leviton outlet), with a 994i with zwave 4.55.0.   On/off controls work fine and the ISY panel shows updates as the switches are turned on/off but queries from the ISY to leviton seem to fail sporadically and to the homeseer almost 100%, including apparently the ISY does a query after the homeseer switch is turned off, so in the panel I see the status go to 0% when the switch is used but then maybe 30 seconds later I get a "request failed" message and the status changes to "!".

I've done a network heal and it succeeds, but then queries still fail.  

I don't know as much about zwave as insteon, so don't know if I'm missing something obvious.  Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy just to not have the queries happen as the automatic updates appear to be received normally, but I don't know of a way to do that.
