MSessions Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Hi there, forgive me if this has been gone over but I was unable to locate an answer and figured this is the best place to ask! I'm wanting to add control of our garage door and was considering MyQ, but cannot determine with any certainty if a subscription to their service would be required in order to use it with Polyglot locally. Does anyone use MyQ in this way, for free? I'm hoping to avoid the subscription service and would entertain the idea of using a RasPi to control the door instead, if that were the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Quick edit: I've used the IOLinc for garage control at my last house (tapping into a spare remote) and while it worked, I would prefer another route this go around.
MrBill Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 The MyQ premium subscription service is not needed for the nodeserver. You supply the nodeserver with your username and password and it logs into your account as a device.
MSessions Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 Thank you! I'll try the MyQ route and see how I like it, and can always fall back on the Pi if necessary. Cheers!
