I just bought one today.  I installed it and it works great as a:

1) on-off switch

2) dimmer

3) energy meter

My use case is that I have too many appliances plugged into a single circuit.  This is a temporary situation, but I want to be able to detect when I turn on my TV (plugged through the Aeotec Smart Switch) and then turn off my wine fridge.  I had to fiddle with a few z-wave parameters (param 90 in particular to enable the energy reports).   I'm running the latest 5.2 firmware and I recently upgraded my z-wave board to the 500 series.
