I post this just in case this story may prove useful to others.   I searched to see if I could find a similar story in the forums and did not find it.

End of the story -- I discovered that a "restoring" a 2477D dimmer to the link table in ISY solved an issue where ISY (and presumably the PLM) was not registering status changes in either the 2477D dimmer or the 2477S switch sharing the same 2-gang box.  I was surprised that this worked without even a factory reset.

Long story version of the story.   After working for years, I found that my toilet exhaust fan was not turning off X minutes after being switched on via an ISY program. I first thought that the switch wasn't receiving the OFF command from ISY,   but I determined that actually the ISY didn't know the fan switch had been turned ON.  I replaced the 2477S.   No change.   I tried a work-around of triggering the program also when the toilet light was turned OFF.  This didn't work also, which led me to see that changes in the Toilet Light Dimmer status were also not reliably registering in the ISY.

I hadn't installed any new noise sources or signal sinks that I could think of, so I thought maybe the exhaust fan motor was going bad and so began to think about installing a Leviton 6287 filter.

Then I noticed that the 2477D  would quietly screech twice every time it was switched on or off, either locally or by remote command.   This was odd and new.  I thought of doing a factory reset but on that particular installation I would have had to remove the bezel.  Not hard, but enough of a pain that I went ahead and did a restore links from the ISY first.  And the problem disappeared....
