ISY-26 factory reset?

I have my old 26 which was removed from home 1. I now want to use it in home 2. The instructions say that to do a factory reset you just have to get it on the network and enter ISY. I had a static IP entered on it before (can't remember what IP I gave it), new router etc. My Network Places does not see it! How can I just get to it and re-enter the new static IP? A brief instruction on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi aLf,

Hopefully you still have the serial cable that came with your ISY. The only way to factory reset the 26 is to use Hyperterminal and connect to your ISY using a serial port on your computer (http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... erial_Port).

Once connected, and logged in:

1. To make your ISY have a dynamic address, issue CT followed by 0.0.0.0 for the IP address

2. To factory reset your ISY, issue FR

With kind regards,

Michel

OK, now I'm not sure I even have the password and log-ins. Why in the world isn't there a way to Factory Reset this thing blindly? Can't you just flash the memory and start over? What would the refurb guys do?

Here is the article on resetting the password:

So, you would connect using the serial cable like discussed above and follow the above instructions to reset your password.

I believe that replacing/wiping the SD card will reset your device config and login information, but I'm pretty certain your static IP will stay the same so logging in with the serial cable would still be necessary.

If you do replace/wipe the SD card, be sure to connect using the UDI URL and reload your firmware.
