Adding Status Selection to Control Selection for Dimmers

I have a SL dimmer with a local on level of 80%. I want to include this device in the condition of a program which becomes true when the device is turned on locally and stays true even when the device is turned off. So using “Status†is not an option because as soon as the SL is turned off the Status will update the program and turn it false.

Using “Control†only allows for On, Off, Fast On, Fast Off, Fade Up, Fade Down, Bright and Dim. None of which will turn the program true when the SL is pressed on. It would be nice if the same selection was available for “Control†as is for “Statusâ€.

Would it would be possible to include this in the future?

Thanks,

Hello Tim,

When the SwitchLinc is switched on locally, it should send an ON command, regardless of its local on-level. Therefore you should be able to use Control to sense when it is turned on, and your program should remain TRUE even when the switch is turned off. You will need to provide some other mechanism to set the program to FALSE when appropriate.

Hi Darrell,

My gosh you are of course 100% correct. It is working that way for me this afternoon. This morning however it wasn't working for me. I don't know what has changed but I am glad it is working now. I will keep an eye on it.

Thank you,

Tim
