TheEther Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 (edited) I dont think the issue is Firmware frankly. It appears to be a hardware issue with the ISY. I've tried different Ethernet cables, different switch ports, a different switch and hard-setting the switch ports to 100-full and 10-full. I'm using an Aruba enterprise class POE switch (no consumer class garbage). I've verified no packet loss elsewhere on my LAN. I dont know of anything else to try on the ISY. Thoughts? Suggestions welcome or time to replace it? Thanks! TheEther Posted April 22, 2021 Author Posted April 22, 2021 I'll also add this ISY-994i is 10 years old (or very close to it). Been a great unit. Ordered a replacement today. I've been noticing my Insteon stuff has been flaky lately and it appears due to Tcp timeouts, that'd be the reason.
Brian H Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Did you ever try a replacement power supply? We have seen reports of strange things happening. I had failures on an ISY99i and my present ISY994i. If you are using a 2413S PLM they also have a reputation of failing and strange things happening 1
io_guy Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 In my last house I had similar packet loss when my ISY was connected to a non-managed 5-port TP-Link switch that also had an Amcrest IP camera on it. It appeared that the ISY couldn't handle all the multicast traffic coming from the camera. Once I moved the camera over to my main managed switch, all was ok again. 1
TheEther Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Wanted to follow up on this. After buying a new ISY 994i ZW+ IR/Pro and transferring everything over. I had the same issue. So... Packet captures, wire sharks and switch mirror ports fun ensued. Narrowed it down to my Plex Media Server. ....and making a very long story short. Disabling the DLNA server in Plex Media Server (PMS) fixed the issue. Good news is I have a shiny new ISY. 1
