No details Available, Unmanged, Can not delete NodeServer

I have been having trouble with my ISY.  Today I went into the Polisy Dashboard.  All of my Nodes show "No Details Available"  and the status is "Unmanaged".  I added another instance of one of them and it shows connected, but there is no way to delete the first one.  How can I get them back connected or delete the ones that are unmanaged and start over?

What kind of trouble have you been having?

Have you rebooted polisy yet?  After that if you are still having this issue you should open a ticket by emailing support@universal-devices.com   For some reason Polyglot can knows the nodeservers are installed but thinks they are managed elsewhere (besides this polisy).

I have rebooted the Polisy, the Polygot, and the ISY numerous times.  I am hoping that I can get an answer in the forum before opening a ticket.

Why do you fear tickets?  they don't incur charges or fees.

I read this forum everyday all day... you have an edge case here... I don't recall this situation occurring since Polisy was originally shipped, I don't expect anyone to have a magic answer for you.

But go on to talk about a problem with your Polisy and Polyglot.   Are the two related? maybe, but we don't have any idea what has been going on with your ISY... You've simply lead the conversation with you've been having ISY issues, but then go on to talk about a Polyglot issue.

Once polyglot marks a node server as un-managed, it's not really possible to move it back to "managed".  Polyglot on startup and periodically while it is running, will query the ISY for the list of installed node servers.  If when it does this query, the ISY either doesn't respond or responds with an empty list, it assumes those node servers have been removed from the ISY and removes them from its database.  If it was a temporary failure and the next time it queries, it sees the full list from the ISY, it compares that with what's in its database doesn't find a match so marks them as "unmanaged".

That's the technical description of how this can happen.  I've had it happen many times while working on PG3 and made some changes to PG3 to make it a bit more robust so that if it can't communicate with the ISY it doesn't assume all the node servers have been removed.

If you have a Polyglot backup, you can restore that and should be fine. Otherwise, you have to delete the node servers from the ISY and re-install them on Polyglot.
