Backup won't restore

Long story short...I F'd up. Had to reset my isy. Its an older version with a ZW daughter board I put in. I went from factory to 5...16C after the reset than tried to apply my backup 5...14. I have two backup files. They both had the same error.

I choose the first file when upgrading.

Not quite sure what your status is now. Are you starting from scratch with no devices or programs?

If you have the 300 ZW dongle the current ISY firmware won't support it. 5.0.16C is the highest version that still supports the 300 series ZW. You may also have to factory reset your Zwave dongle.

The 4.1.1 ISY firmware version had a bug that corrupted the backup if that's what you previously had.

After my initial factory reset i upgraded using this version of 5.0.16C (ISY 994i Series including Z-Wave support). From there I have a blank console with no devices.

From your post I reset the dongle. Now that I've reset the dongle an attempted upgrade of the firmware. It resulted in "Can't enter into programming mode" during the upgrade and "ZWave 15 Upgrade Z-Wave Firmware" Command failed. The Zwave version currently showing is 4.55.00

I realized that the highest I can go on this box is 5.0.16C. The back up is from 5.0.14.

Should I reset the dongle again than re-factory rest the isy?

After you did the restore did you clear your Java cache including applications and then download the ISY launcher?

There isn't an upgrade for your zwave device beyond the 4.5.5 that you currently have which is why you probably got that error message.

A factory reset on the ISY will delete all your programs and devices, you'll be starting fresh.

A reboot of the ISY would not effect programs or devices.

The error was: Upgrade failed. Invalid system configuration file

Should I try another factory reset before opening a ticket?

I think you already did, but yea open a ticket... support is going to be your best venue for this one, everyone in the forum will be guessing.
