macjeff
With insteon gone and not sure I want to take a risk on the not yet released Nokia switches I wanted to start a topic. Michel said to go with Lutron RA3 which is in the works. But for now...I can buy insteon switches on ebay but you dont know what you are going to get. Old firmware, bad switch. So.....for now what could I get to setup. I have z-wave network for locks. I guess I could go with Z-wave but thats also old. Here are my requirements 1. Works with ISY (nodeserver ok) 2, has a bridge- I have 90 switches including plug ins so I dont want to give up 90 IP addresses to wifi. 3. Not too expensive as I will probably change out to RA3 down the road. Looked at Lutron Coseta for now but the nodeserver does not support switches. It also has a limit of 75 switches. I guess I could switch a few to wifi ones like Kasa. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Link to comment
lilyoyo1
@Geddy, I think we need a sub-forum for this specific topic which contains all of the 50 bazillion gillion posts asking this same question every other day. That way, people dont have to repeat the same thing over and over again. @macjeff your only option is zwave Edited March 4, 2022 by lilyoyo1 Link to comment

Seriously, I have a chapter in my life where I did forum management for enterprise customers as my day job. Each sub-forum should get a minimum of 3-5 new posts per day, and if it doesn't the sub-forum shouldn't exist and should be combined with something else. Only then do users actually engage at a level that they learn how to divide topics and which type of question belong where, otherwise they tend to post whatever in the most used sub-forums. We have 100s of sub forums here and only a few of us really know what should be posted where. As a result, it's a giant mess. We need less sub-forums, not more. Link to comment

But we need something outa place where this question can be asked/found easily since it pops up every other day. Maybe we can get rid of some of the unused forums and use this in those slots. We both know before the weekend is out we'll be answer this question again Link to comment
macjeff
Let me know. I will hide it (or ask for it to be deleted). I do see this question in other spots but I think we need to have a place people can go to. This is a big discussion and its a lot of money to go in the wrong direction. Link to comment
Geddy
@macjeff This topic has been covered tons of times in other areas. We don't need more threads to say the same thing that has been talked about for the last 3 years+. Link to comment
