mitch236 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi all! I am just starting my migration from x-10 to Insteon using the ISY 99i. Everything was going well until this morning. For no reason and suddenly, I cannot communicate with any of my devices. Last night, everything was fine. This morning, I keep getting error messages from the Admin console that it cannot communicate with any of my devices. I am running firmware 2.7.10 (which was working fine). The only changes I've made that I can think of was that I added the weather module and then I added a program that would turn on one of my outdoor lights when lighting was 0. I deleted the program this morning since I figured it wasn't written correctly (I had it programmed to turn on if light was 0 but a seperate program had the light turn off at 9:00 PM so I thought I created a loop which was crashing the system). I tried powering down the PLM and ISY. I also rebooted my router. Can anyone think of an issue that would be causing this? I'm in the testing phase so still am running x-10 but none of the modules cross platforms. I only have 8 devices in my Insteon system. This morning, I lost communication with EVERY device in the system! Thanks, Mitch Quote
oberkc Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I suppose there could be some type of hardware failure. Short of that, is it possible that some device came on in your house which would cause a lot of noise? Furnace? Refrigerator? Is your X-10 still working? Quote
mitch236 Posted February 9, 2010 Author Posted February 9, 2010 I'm going to get a reputation here fast!!!! So this is what I've figured out. I caused a loop because of my "light=0" program that crashed the system. Once I removed that statement (and saved my changes!) and rebooted the system, it all came back! Except for one controller and I can figure that out later when I have more time. For now, I need to learn the programming syntax! My migration should be complete by the end of this weekend and I'm having an electrician clean up some wiring issues. Thanks for putting up with me while I'm a newbe!!!! Mitch Quote
