theedudenator Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Only seeing one zwave device, but it doesn't have built in GFCI like the radiant floor manufacture wants. I am now thinking of just buying the cheap non-programable floor thermostat and using a higher amp zwave switch to stop/start the entire system. Any thoughts or suggestions?
jfai Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Replace the non-GFCI breaker with a GFCI breaker. You also need to ensure that the floor covering temperature does not exceed the covering-specific maximum temperature, e.g. 82 F for anything but tiles/stone (104 F). This requires a floor sensor embedded in the heater substrate. There aren't many thermostats that have inputs for floor temperature probes.
steve-elves Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 I've been using the NuHeat electric underfloor heating system for several years now. There's a node server in Polisy that allows you to connect and control these units through the ISY. I really like these devices - it's wonderfully-even heat. 1
steve-elves Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Should also point out that the NuHeat thermostats contain built-in GFCI breakers.
