Is it possible to hook power to relay. And then use a momentary doorbell (normally open) connected to relay screws. Of course have the device recognized in Yolink app. Have Alexa see new device.  When someone presses doorbell for I guess that 1/10th of a second the relay closes and passes that info to your  hub which passes to Alexa which recognizes relay I assume and then run an Alexa routine to make an announcement someone is at door?

Thank you

I'm surprised noone has responded to your question yet, so I'll take a stab.

If I understand correctly you want alexa to announce if someone presses the doorbell, and you want to use the yolink app.

If you have an existing doorbell, I see two possibilities.  If you want to keep the chime, an automotive relay could be wired in with the chime/doorbell transformer and used to trigger a hacked yolink contact sensor, or if you don't want the chime you could simply wire the hacked yolink contact sensor with the doorbell wires.

With that said, for the price of a yolink contact sensor and a relay, you could come pretty close to the cost of a ~$35 video doorbell that "works with Alexa".

I ended up with a relay with an on-board timer, this allowed me to extend the button press to 1 second.  The button press was too quick and the sensor couldn't detect it.

Thank you. So I have a few options.  I think I could use the yolink outdoor door sensor and cut wires and attach to doorbell but hard to feed wires through wall.

Other option is a Tuya button, wifi based, whose app can interface with echoes.

And as mentioned, probably cheaper to just use a cheap doorbell camera, Alexa compatible, with button.

I currently have a working wired plain doorbell now, just not loud enough in rest of house. Thank you all.

So @MrBill are you saying a momentary button like a doorbell prob would not work with the Yolink outdoor relay due to too short of a time closed ?  I do not have Home Assistant or any home automation except stock Alexa app, Yolink app and a Kasa app. I guess I will go with a Tuya button with wifi (Alexa compatible with routines) or perhaps add a cheap camera doorbell that is Wyze compatible. I already have a camera pointing at the door. Tx

no idea, I've never had a yolink device, no idea what sensitivity they have.  If you discover tho that quick press and release of the button doesn't work but an extended hold the button does, then consider there might be a time delay relay that will trigger quickly and extend the contact closure.  I added doorbell notification before video doorbells were a thing.  unfortunately--neither the chinese time delay relay or the 3rd party Insteon product that i used are available anymore.  so providing exact details isn't possible however, lots of possible solutions on amazon.

Thanks for letting us know.  Not sure we can help here.  Many people here have the peripherals, however we use a much more powerful ISY/IoX controller manufactured by Universal-devices who provides this forum to support their products.  You'll likely get better help in other forums on the internet..... or you could purchase an eisy™, then we can better help you with your projects.

I don't have any yolink devices either.  However, I do use a standard doorbell button to trigger the chime, video call to house phones and push notification to an app for camera/speaker/microphone/access control.  I found that lighted doorbell buttons had issues being sensed when not pushed long enough.   I switched to a non-lighted button and it has worked flawlessly since.

I used an Insteon 2450 contact closure.  When someone presses the doorbell it goes through the closure and sends and insteon "on" command, that triggers a "door bell" program that makes an Insteon siren chime.  It is very loud and I had to put acoustic tape over it.

The other side of the 2450 is used to open the door.  I put in a door lock that uses an electric relay.  I can hit a button on my UDI mobile to run a program "buzz in" that opens the lock for 2 seconds.

I did end up removing the stock doorbell switch and installing the Lorex (Ring Style) door bell so I could see who I was buzzing in on the 15" Echo in the kitchen.
