burakk Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I ordered my ECM1240, and it is on its way, so i figured i'll ask my questions: 1. The ecm1240 has 2+5 channels. How many does ISY support? 2. it can also support dual input on the aux channels, increasing the potential inputs to 12. Can isy support these? Thanks! Burak

Burak Hi Burak, The ISY can monitor all 7 channels. However, it can only monitor power on Aux channel 5, not the the pulse count or DC voltage. Unless Brultech has changed something recently, I don't believe it can output 12 separate values. You can connect two CT's to each aux channel but my understanding is that it combines the values from those into the one output. To get more than 7 actual output values, you need more than one ECM1240. The ISY currently only supports one ECM1240 and expects the ECM1240 to be in "server" mode (listening for connections). I was just looking at the latest interface software from Brultech and it looks like they've added the option to listen for connects and forward data so that option exists if you want to collect the data in a database.

burakk Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Hi Bob, I'm planning the installation and while reading the installation guide ran across the following note: CTs compatible with CH1 & CH2 channels: Note 4: MicroCT, 40A donut style current transformer REQUIRES RESISTOR Would you happen to know what the required resistor is? I can't seem to find it in the guide... Thank you, Burak I ordered my ECM1240, and it is on its way, so i figured i'll ask my questions: 1. The ecm1240 has 2+5 channels. burakk Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 Another question: When I read the installation manual, I get the idea that you can only connect 2 micro CTs to a Aux channel, however in one of the pictures, there are 4 micro ct’s attached to a AUX channel. I assume that the AUX channels are rated for a certain amount of amps. Can someone let me know how many CTs can be attached, or how many amps can be attached to AUX channels? Thanks, Burak
