paul.rea Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I purchased a new EISY and the Zwave/Zigbee/Matter dongle. When I try and add a zigbee device a new item is added to the list ZB 22335.1 Main, and all it shows is "Identify" with a drop down for seconds, and Identify and Query buttons at the bottom of the page. I have tried this with open/close sensors and a zigbee button. Zwave and insteon stuff adds just fine. What am I doing wrong with Zigbee?
Techman Posted January 6 Posted January 6 In your device tree there's a red explanation mark which means that the EISY is unable to communicate with the device. Try moving the device closer to the eisy then right click on the device and then click on rewrite device links. It's possible that your device is out of range from the zmatter dongle. If that's the case you may have to add a zigbee repeater such as this one: Range Extender Zi - Aeotec
paul.rea Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 (edited) Oh, that red ! is an insteon device that is currently unplugged. The 3 devices below that are the zigbee devices with empty screens. Edited January 7 by paul.rea
Techman Posted January 7 Posted January 7 You should right click on the device and disable it otherwise the controller will attempt to access it. Any luck with moving the zigbee device closer to the EISY?
paul.rea Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 No luck. I stood next to it and tried deleting devices, re-adding, etc. in some cases trying to synchronize and interrogate. Sometimes the zigbee progress window wouldn't even open. I now have 4 zigbee devices in the list which is strange because I only own 3. Two have the same window I screenshot earlier. Two now have a window with a bunch of parameters like battery status and open/close status, however neither of my open close switches change the status in the windows. I am pretty disappointed with zigbee and zwave and the Eisy at the moment. I switched gears and tried to add my zwave lock this afternoon. Eisy just came back with a similar blank window and the lock never finishes pairing. I'm sure it's just user error.
Techman Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) @paul.rea You might have either an eisy firmware issue or a problem with the connection between the Zmatter dongle and the eisy. At this point it's best to submit a support ticket. Edited January 8 by Techman
paul.rea Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 That's a good point. Maybe I'll try resetting the antennas and if that doesn't work then open the ticket. Thank you for your suggestions along the way!
Techman Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Make sure that the antennas are connected to the correct mount. I use a short USB cable between the eisy and the zmatter dongle to eliminate any stress on the eisy USB port. 1
