IoX with new PLM no longer sees the motion sensors

Hi,

After using the 994i for years with only minor problems, I got the IoX because I had to. Although I don't like that the Eisy is running warmer than the 994i, I hoped my system would be running smoother.

But I am having problems with all Insteon motion sensors which the system no longer sees.

I have tried- Restoring the IoX config from a working config after the migration about 100 times.
- Restoring the PLM another 100 times.
- I have Restored Device for the sensore another 100 times.
- I bought a new PLM without success. I followed the proper instructions for Replacing the PLM.
- I factory reset the new PLM without success.
- Relinking the sensor but the system does not discover it

What else should I try?

Delete the sensor from your eisy, factory reset your sensor then brng it close to the PLM, put it in the linking mode and then add it to the eisy.

If it adds to the eisy but doesn't work properly when it's relocated then it may be due to poor communications between the eisy and the sensor. You may have to add a dual band plug in device between the two which will act as a repeater.

Restoring the PLM and replacing the PLM was most likely not necessary, especially if your other devices are all working properly.

Also they are RF devices and go in to power saving mode.

Each one has to be woken up individually and then do a restore on it.

Thank you Techman and Brian, after trying Insteon Motion I and IIs, I was able to make one work and not the other. I will try the rest of the ones to see if that one is broken. I will report back.

Thank you Brian and Techman, it worked. For posterity, here is what I had to do:

  • Remove the sensor from Eisy
  • Relink it (manually, automatic discovery did not work)
  • Right click and Write Changes to device
  • Press the set button on the sensor so Eisy could see it

Fortunately, my scenes still had the rediscovered sensors in them.
